"The hidden dangers posed by lavatory decadence"

In Great Britain, a national crisis is being blamed on kinder, gentler toilet paper.
Ohmygosh, is that what it was? I simply couldn't believe it when I was
confronted by nonabsorbent toilet paper as a student in St. Andrews, Scotland in the early 1980s. Only the British, I remember thinking. What else did
those companies make, I wonder? Nonabsorbent paper towels? Nonabsorbent
writing paper? Nonabsorbent diapers? The mind boggles.
